Comments: My rankings changed quite a bit this week despite the fact that the top 3 teams remained in place. Oregon’s impressive blowout of USC impressed me but I’m not quite as down on USC as the rest of the country is. Are you telling me right now that you’d favor Cincinnati, Boise State, or Iowa over USC on a neutral field? Yeah, me neither. I’ve watched Iowa quite a bit and they are cruising for a bruising. If they do end up undefeated at the end of the season they will have earned whatever they get but they are not a dominant team. The Big Ten teams have sort of replaced the ACC teams at the back end of my rankings but we’ll know a lot more about the big 3 in the Big Eleven by the end of this month. And regardless, by the time you get to the 13th, 14th, and 15th spots you’re not talking about great teams, you’re talking about the best of a large group of good teams.
