-Previous week’s rankings in parenthesis;

Relative Calmness: Only 19 of 32 places changed this week, with 13 spots remaining the same. 9 teams moved up at least 1 spot this week, while 10 teams moved down at least 1 spot. Of the 9 teams moving up the rankings, 6 moved up at least 2 spots. 9 of the 10 teams going the other direction fell at least 2 spots.

The Pack Stays on Top: Green Bay remained in the #1 spot again this week and they have now held the top spot 3 weeks straight. Actually, my entire top 5 remained intact and exactly the same this week.

Triple Jump: 3 teams packed together made a huge jump in the rankings this week, vaulting 8 spots. The 49ers moved from #17 to #9; the Buffalo Bills moved from #18 to #10; and the Oakland Raiders jumped from #19 to #11.

Slippage: Several teams took major dives in my rankings this week. The Titans, Falcons, and Dolphins all fell 3 spots, while the Eagles and Bucs each dropped 5 places. But the team taking the biggest tumble this week was the New York Football Giants. The G-Men plummeted 8 spots this week from #9 to #17.

Keeping it on the Low Low: The Rams are on the opposite side of the banana from Green Bay (I know that doesn’t mean anything but it sounds funny to me). They remained in the bottom spot this week and they have now held the #32 spot 3 straight weeks.

Other Notes: There are only 2 remaining undefeated teams, and with GB at #1, the Lions are obviously my lowest ranked undefeated team at #7. The Colts are my highest rated winless team (out of 3) at #28, despite the fact that they are the only 0-5 team in the NFL…The Bengals are my lowest ranked team with a winning record, coming in at #22 despite being 3-2 on the year. The Bears are now my highest ranked team with a losing record for some reason, sitting at #12 despite being 2-3. The Eagles are still in the top half of the rankings (#15) despite being 1-4.
