Comments: This method of ranking teams may be easier than the pure power rankings but I don’t think they are any more likely to be accurate. I don’t think this method serves as a better way to determine which team is the best than the other way because you still have to judge how good the opposition is. Bama has been the best team on the field this season. There’s little argument in that regard. Iowa has won convincingly since their 2nd game and they have several good wins. Florida and Texas really only have 1 good win apiece. The other 3 undefeated teams have all been relatively untested so far. I think USC, Miami, and GT have the best wins and the best losses of all the 1-loss teams. Miami has blown out Tech and beaten Oklahoma and their only loss was at Virginia Tech in a rain storm. USC has won at Ohio State, at Cal, and at Notre Dame and their only loss was at Washington. Georgia Tech has beaten Virginia Tech and their only loss was at Miami.
