Explanation: After 5 straight weeks of 2 teams falling out of my rankings, only 1 team fell out of my power rankings this week. For the 3rd week in a row, the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants are 1-2 in my top 8. The Titans hold my number 1 spot for the 7th week in a row this week after they won at Chicago, 21-14, in week 10 to remain undefeated on the year at 9-0. The Giants had yet another impressive win in week 10, beating the Eagles, 36-31, in Philly, and they are 2nd in my top 8 for the 3rd consecutive week. Since breaking into my power rankings at #7 in week 2, the Giants have been in my top 8 for 9 consecutive weeks, and they’ve been in my top 5 now for 6 straight weeks. For the 3rd week in a row there is a new #3 team in my power rankings. Though their 17-6 win at Oakland in week 10 was not all that impressive in my eyes, I moved the 7-2 Panthers up 2 spots from 5th to 3rd almost by default. The Panthers have been ranked in my top 8 for the last 4 weeks but this is their highest rating of the season to date. The Steelers had been ranked 3rd in my top 8 but I moved them down a spot to 4th following their disappointing loss at home to the Colts, 24-20, in week 10. The team previously ranked 4th in my top 8 had been the Philadelphia Eagles but I moved Philly down a spot from 4th to 5th in my rankings after they lost to the Giants, 36-31, at home on Sunday Night Football in week 10. The Redskins were off in week 10 and thus remained in the #6 spot in my ratings for a second straight week. The Ravens won impressively again in week 10, this time blowing out the Texans on the road, 41-13, to get to 6-3 on the season, and thus they held the #7 spot in my rankings for a second straight week. For the 4th consecutive week and the 5th time in the last 6 weeks, there was a new team in the final spot in my power rankings in week 10. After breaking into my rankings for the first time all season at #8 in week 9, I moved the Cardinals right back out of my top 8 after their ugly, 29-24 win over the Niners at home on Monday Night Football in week 10. Arizona was the only team to fall out of my top 8 this week after at least 2 teams had fallen out of my rankings in the previous 6 weeks. Taking Arizona’s place in the finally spot in my top 8 this week was the Indianapolis Colts, who had perhaps the most impressive win of any team in week 10, going on the road to upset the Steelers, 24-20. The Colts climb back into my rankings this week for the first time since falling out of my top 8 back in week 7.
