The NFL Blog: 2011 Week 11 Betting Lines

Last Week: Vs. Spread: (11-5); Straight Up: (9-7)

Season: Vs. Spread: (76-65-5); Straight Up: (93-53)

Week 10 Review: Obviously a solid week for me. I’ve got a little bit of breathing room in case of disaster.

Week 11 Preview: We’re back to byes this week, but this is the last week of byes, and there are only 4 teams off, so we’ll have 14 games from Thursday to Monday. From a betting angle I don’t like this week one little bit. There are four games that are essentially pickems. And what’s worse is that those matchups are between two bad teams or two mediocre teams, not two good teams.

Unfortunately I don’t have enough time for real comments this week. I’ve only written a sentence or two about each game. I’ve had a nice little run of doing extensive comments. But this week all of my time and energy has been sapped by my MLB Awards blog.

Thursday Night’s Game

New York Jets (-6) @ Denver

Pick: Jets cover

Comment: A really short week for the Jets but I still think they’ll shutdown Tebow and the Broncos.

Sunday’s Early Games

Carolina (+7) @ Detroit

Pick: Lions cover

Comment: The Lions are slumping and they have some key guys banged up.

Tampa Bay (+14) @ Green Bay

Pick: Packers cover

Comment: Hard to go against the Pack right now.

Dallas (-9) @ Washington

Pick: Cowboys cover

Comment: Dallas is rolling and the Skins are well into their annual swoon.

Buffalo (+1) @ Miami

Pick: Dolphins cover

Comment: Speaking of swoons. I’d like to pick the Bills but they just aren’t playing as well as Miami right now.

Jacksonville (+1) @ Cleveland

Pick: Jags pull off the upset

Comment: Who are you going to pick in this one? Both teams suck but Jax has looked better lately.

Oakland (-1) @ Minnesota

Pick: Raiders cover

Comment: It’s a road trip for the Raiders but they should be able to handle it.

Cincinnati (+7) @ Baltimore

Pick: Ravens win but Bengals beat the spread

Comment: This is another huge game for the Bengals. The Ravens should play well since they aren’t playing a shitty team this week.

Sunday’s Late Games

Seattle (+1) @ St. Louis

Pick: Rams cover

Comment: Going with the home team in this one.

Arizona (+9.5) @ San Francisco

Pick: Niners cover

Comment: John Skelton is starting again at QB for the Cards but they’re actually on a bit of a roll right now. The Niners are on a bigger roll.

San Diego (+3.5) @ Chicago

Pick: Bears cover

Comment: Another tough game for the Chargers.

Tennessee (+6) @ Atlanta

Pick: Falcons win but Titans beat the spread

Comment: I think we’ll win but I’m not confident enough to say we’ll win by a TD.

Sunday Night’s Game

Philadelphia (+4.5) @ New York Giants

Pick: Giants win but Eagles beat the spread

Comment: This should be a good one. Right now it looks like there’s a good chance Michael Vick won’t go but I’m not counting on it.

Monday Night’s Game

Kansas City (+14.5) @ New England

Pick: Patriots cover

Comment: This is a big spread for the Pats to cover but the Chiefs are now without their best 3 players.
