The NFL Blog: 2012 Week 10 Betting Lines

Last Week: Vs. Spread: (8-6); Straight Up: (10-4)
Season: Vs. Spread: (72-58-2); Straight Up: (81-51)

Week 9 Review: I’ll never complain about going 10-4 straight up and 2 games over .500 ATS. But obviously I had hopes for something better when I was 7-2 ATS and 7-2 straight up heading into the late games on Sunday.

Week 10 Preview: There are 14 games again this week, as 2 more teams take their byes. Thursday night’s game features the upstart Colts, but also features Jacksonville. Monday night’s game has the potential to be the least interesting stand-alone game of the year, as the Steelers host the Kansas City Chiefs. Fortunately, Sunday night’s game is the best matchup of the week, with Houston visiting the Bears.

Last week was a good one for the favorites, and there are several large spreads this week. There are 4 spreads of at least 9.5 points and 3 of those are at least 11 point spreads. There could definitely be a swing back to the underdogs this week, and if it’s a major swing it’ll be a rough week for me, as I’m sticking with the favorites.

In contrast to those double digit spreads, there are 4 games with spreads of just 1 point, and 3 of those are divisional meetings. 6 road teams are favored this week. Overall it just seems like a nasty little slate of games to pick in week 10.
