Comments: So this is the final regular season edition of the season résumé rankings. As expected, there are no changes this week. This is the first time all year that these rankings remained exactly the same. Notre Dame is the top team in these rankings for a fourth straight week.

While there weren’t any changes to the top 10 this week, I did finally expand the pool of eligible teams to all teams with less than 4 losses. Thus, after weeks of postponement, I finally included 3-loss teams. The result was a bit anti-climactic. Oregon State was the only 3-loss team within shouting distance of the top 10, and even the Beavers could barely be heard. The rest of the 3-loss teams weren’t even close.

But, I did at least expand the pool just to be sure. There were 20 teams eligible for last week’s rankings (2 undefeated teams; 5 1-loss teams; 13 2-loss teams) and those 20 teams remained eligible this week. I then added 12 3-loss teams this week for a total of 32 eligible teams. In the end, it didn’t make a difference. However, that won’t always be the case heading into bowl season. Every year is different.
