Comments:
Much
more change in my rankings this week. Overall, 30 of 32 spots in my power
rankings experienced change this week, with 14 teams moving up in the rankings
and 16 teams going down. Of the 14 teams rising in my power rankings, 8 moved
up more than 1 spot. Of the 14 teams falling in my rankings this week, 7
dropped more than 1 spot.
The team making the
biggest climb in my power rankings this week was Cincinnati. The Bengals blew
out the Giants on the road last Sunday, perhaps saving their season, and they
moved up 5 spots in my rankings this week from #23 to #18. Not coincidentally it
was the New York Giants who took the biggest tumble in my power rankings this
week, dropping 4 spots from #2 to #6.
I knew I shouldn’t have
placed my team atop the power rankings. The Falcons suffered their first loss
of the season on Sunday, losing a heartbreaker on the road against their arch
rivals the Saints. After just 1 week in the #1 spot, my Falcons fell 2 spots
this week, dropping from #1 to #3.
The Green Bay Packers
were idle last week and are just 6-3 on the season but they are the new team
atop my power rankings. Green Bay jumped up 3 spots this week, climbing from #4
to #1.
There’s also a new team
at the bottom of the rankings. The Kansas City Chiefs put up a good fight on
the road against the Steelers on Monday night and they ended their 2 week run
as my #32 team. KC moved up 1 spot this week from #32 to #31.
The Cleveland Browns
were idle last week and this week they find themselves back at the bottom of my
rankings after a 2 week break. The Browns dropped 1 spot in my rankings from
#31 to take over the #32 spot once again.
After 10 weeks there
are no undefeated or winless teams in the NFL. There are just two 1-loss teams
remaining: Houston (#2 in my rankings) and my Atlanta Falcons (#3). There are
also two 1-win teams: Kansas City (#31) and Jacksonville (#30). At the moment
there are no .500 teams in the NFL, and there are no teams with winning records
ranked below teams with losing records in my power rankings.
